State of affairs-'Bleak'
Now the Food Security Bill, now division of Andhra Pradesh
issue, now the Gorkhaland issue, now the Modi issue, now the Durga Nagpal case,
now the Vidarbha statehood demand, now the Kistwaar issue, now the Haryana land
row, now the domicile issue in Jharkhand, now Modi’s five rupees participation fee
fiasco, now the 2002 Gujrat riot case, now the Nawada riots, now the Kerla’s
unrest over Oman Chandi’s resignation demand, now the Id jubilations, now the
Shikhar’s achievement, now the Pakistan army's unprovoked shelling in Punchh sector to spoil the normalcy bid, now the SC verdict on disqualification of accused
leaders, now the centre moving to the SC for a reconsideration petition on
disqualification issue, now the national parties coming into the RTI’s
perimeter, now all parties colluding to thwart the Central Vigilance
Commissioner’s verdict, now the Onion’s burgeoning price, now the Mayawati’s
acquittal in disproportionate asset case, now Mulam Singh Yadav and Congress engaged
in ill-treating each other, in all these now and then the core issue of corruption,
scams and inflation is lost now and the Indian masses is hypnotized about forgetting
the misdeeds of the current government and media is agog with these news and
are feeling the heat of a reporter shortage to cover up all the issues, hence, pitch
is ready for a fresh start for the incumbent government, before going to the
hustings again, glad with their success, in burying the core issues.Incidents
seem incendiary more and self initiated less. But, amid these trying times, order will fall in place with serenity, once the Monsoon session of parliament is over.

Indecisiveness or reluctance ?
One Snowden may cause the postponement of the proposed talks
between USA and
Russian presidents, but the killing of five soldiers leaves Indian government
undeterred in its resolve, to give a go ahead of the proposed talks between the premiers of the two nations in September ’13.
It lands me in great suspicion and grief that why the army in Punch
sector was not asked to retaliate. And if they have been, why not enough
support was there? Does the present government wants to safeguard its boarders
in this manner?. It seems that they have tied the goats (not soldiers) in front
of lions and dragons, to shed the crocodilian tears later? Whether this is a
failure of Indian intelligence, or the surveillance system, or the government’s
stand and directives, or of all, is still unclear. And Indian government should
not leave any stone unturned in strengthening the systems involved in
safeguarding the Indian territories (with clear directives to the forces), so
that the moral of the army does not go down, for the army as well as the hoi
polloi is sulking and may erupt anytime. The eruption of the later will be seen
shortly, but of the former remains uncertain in mode, method and magnitude.
Right from its creation, the army alone had ruled the roost of
Pakistan, and
the political establishment there had had their hand cuffed on critical issues,
especially concerning the better political and economical ties with India.
The change of the guard in Pakistan
heralded the renewed avidness and warmth in invigorating the bilateral ties with India;
vociferously advocated by Mr. Nawaaz Sharif in his election rallies and
overwhelming support he got in decisive Panjab province. But, alas! Even after
66 years Pak-army continues to play the role it had had played, since its inception.
There is a huge rift between the army and political establishment, and Pakistani
political honchos are free to take decisions on critical issues concerning
neighbours, but India.
The mere thought of normalising ties with India
sends adrenaline in the nerves of the Pak-army, as if their existence were at
stake, and it never looses any opportunity in decimating such prospects, and
hence promptly foils any such projects, in guise of, and in connivance with, the terrorists.
The terrorists owe their existence in Pakistan
to the army’s patronage there and hence give shapes to their designs as and
when directed or called for.
It is calamitous that when the two nations are trying it hard
to come to the negotiating table and giving a fillip to the bilateral ties, the Pak-army
is playing a spoil-sports to their efforts. Although Mr. Sharif have won the
political battle, but the biggest challenge he faces now is, to come to terms
with the army there. And until he overcomes this challenge, his intentions of a
better relations with India
will remain biting the dust and chimerical for ever, ever and ever.

Style statement or business?
Showing cleavages, or the
full nude back, or the lingerie, if is a style statement, then why not go for
naturism?-which is more erotic and sensual.
Recently two English style-divas
were in India to teach Indians, how to dress sensibly? I object
to the word sensibly, it being misnomer in Indian context. They are doing the
business together science 1994 and are very successful in teaching the
Englishmen how to dress sensibly. They are here to advertise their prospects of
new markets and ultimately profits. For, they will be left on the testing
grounds if monetary benefits are not associated. Can they go to the middle or
west Asia and teach them this sensibility. I doubt, for,
they will be ostracised immediately after their arrival there and bite the
dust, and it will be a ‘Hornet’s Nest’ for them, if they will try their new
ventures there.
George Bernard Shaw’s
famous statement that-“all women are equally beautiful in the darkness of
night” should by brought into this discussion. Wasn’t the prolific writer right,
in exclaiming the equality? He was equivocal on the equality of beauty too.
Although, it may have caused an ‘end of road’, for the various beauty pageant contests.
Indian attire-‘Sari’ still
boasts of being the most sensual women’s wear worldwide, and it competes with
the best in the business. But there is no transparent show of nudity in this
attire.
They claim to have taught
us the wear-sense, but, is it so? In my opinion they have invented plethora of
designs to give the women more womanish looks and scores of options to choose
from, for more exposures. Aren’t the so called stylists are culprit of evoking
lust in men, and more victims of sexual abuse in the countries like India by
the surprise rise in the hot-couture?
But, there is another
aspect of this subject too.
Time, aided by the
burgeoning world wide web-‘the internet’- has brought the change at a greater
speed than expected. And a huge economy depends upon the new traditions-or
clothing sense. We are richer by the options, and poorer by the total covering
area by these cloths now. Before, the mantilla (the dupatta) acted as a
firewall against the hawkish onlookers? - Thus thwarting a looming wickedness. Now
the whole contour of the body are on the show, - and thus open to invites for
an onslaught- without any such clothing. But, ask any poor in India (about 50% of the total population) about this
change and hot- couture. And the answer will be-“we anyhow cover our body, why
to think for the costumes when our stomach is empty most of the time”?
India still beholds its traditions to its heart immensely. And is at the
centre of its socio-political establishment with the varying culture and
traditions. There is a fashionable class vying for these changes, but there are
the obstinate people too, against this change. Let them do their business and
flourish, and we behold our traditions changing with a slower speed, with the
firewall ‘ON’, as the pinnacle of this dressing sense and modification will be-‘nudity’.
Which off course, we do not wish to see too soon, and, in open.

This is politics folks
And the whole India is more or less in an utter chaos. This is a calculated
move-a master stroke of the savage lovers- by the incumbent policy makers to throw
the whole nation in this state of complete pandemonium.
The movements or demands
for separate states from all parts of India are pouring and the elite group who
were at the verge of an inevitable exit under the storm of one person and the plethora of scams, are
relieved now, for, the various scams unearthed under the current regime,-which
was of serious concern for the current regime-has taken the backstage on the
minds of Indian voters. They have forgotten every thing now, it seems, and only
the demands of a separate state are seen flooded in the media, which is perceived
as the mirror image of the agony and concern of the common man.
The think-tank has done its job and is relaxing a bit and happy by the developments, as the storm and the scams which were haunting them
for a long time has sincerely been put off.
The disruptions
in the far east, the agitation at the central part, the hubbub in the south, all
are not ephemeral but all these commotions will die out only after the
elections are over. But they will leave a deep scar on the heart of mother India. And the media is acting as an inciting agent-a
catalyst- by giving the wide coverage of these agitations.
Another highly politicized
issue is that of an I.A.S. officer’s suspension. Facebook has confirmed its
decisive presence and importance in India also, and will play a vital role in
next elections, -as it has done in the west Asia-this can be extrapolated-by the
blowing out of proportion and aftermath- of this issue on it.
The parties involved in
this case are prolonging this case for their own gains. Under the carpet there
are proceedings going on for the time’s purchase to come out of the precarious
situation and a best deal. Food Security Bill will certainly see the light of
the day, this is for sure-I had had this notion from the past experience. All the altercations going on are only to fool the
public. Initially they will pose a threat and at the crucial moment of voting they will support
the bill, in the pretense of poor-friendly. This is politics after all folks.

The tax behemoth and the cover fire
When the British Empire imposed the salt tax in India, it created the greatest upheaval in Indian masses and Mahatma
Gandhi along with his supporters, marched to Dandy to break this rule. This
march was a great hit, and acted as an intensifier in India’s quest for freedom. On 26th
January 1930, Indian
National Congress declared ‘Purna Swaraj’,-the complete Independence- and within the next seventeen years we saw the birth of the twins.
In today’s India, the cornucopia of taxes includes the direct and
Indirect Taxes. Indian Citizens are paying Income Tax, Value Added tax,
Professional Tax, Wealth tax, Service tax, Excise Duty, Custom Duty, Road Tax
on vehicles, Entertainment Tax, Stamp Duty, Education Cess, Goods and Service
Tax, to name a few.
Our current President and
Ex finance minister in his budget speech in 2011 have mooted the need of
unification of various taxes, with a gradual decrease in the amount of taxes, a
person pays. But in 2012 he became the President of India and who went in isolation;
the unification issue or the then finance minister, is anybody’s guess.
India ranks in top 50 of the most corrupted countries list. If anyone
becomes a member of legislative assembly or parliament or is given any
ministry, then his income rises abruptly. In 1986, the then Prime minister has admitted
86% loot in public accounts. And in 2013, what is the % of loot is again
anybody’s guess.
Even the national highways
in some states make mockery of the development claims of the government. Fiddling
in the basic amenities is rampant above expectations. But, the government’s reluctance
in solving or channelizing or upkeep of the existing amenities and policies is
more painful. And why they will do this, when most of their energy is being
wasted in their survival?- and the cover fire in rescuing the culprits(throwing
the country in a state of uncertainty and chaos may be assumed to be the cover
fire for the various scams).
