Secularism or Opportunism ?

Secularism or Opportunism ?

Oxford Advanced Learner’s Dictionary defines the word “Secularism” as-“the belief that religion should not be involved in society or education etc.”(please note they have not mentioned politics). Why then, these Indian politicians so often coin the term against their opponents(read BJP)?

Dear Congress !,You were unable to avert India’s partion, and You were also unapt... and adamant when Sardaar Patel forced the Junagadh nabob to merge with India and later mooted the plan to resurrect the Somnath Temple(an epitome of reconstruction as Dr. rajendra Prasad had famously quoted while inaugurating its revival in 1950- “The Somnath temple signifies that the power of reconstruction is always greater than the power of destruction”.) along with other things.

Then your collusion saw the Ram-Lala door ajar, which till date is unresolved. You were inimical with Sardar Patel, when he consecrated to settle the Kashmir issue, stopping him in his endeavour by citing it as your home state issue. Has it been resolved yet ?

How will it feel, of not talking of, Christianity in Europe, and Jews in Israel, and about Muslims in Arab? Its not taboo, to talk about the religions in these countries. How then talking about Hindus is communal in Hindustan?

Most of the present maladies faced by India( Graft, loot of Governmental coffers etc) is accredited to you. And the bewitching statements and appeal is the result of your fascination with the chair. You have not shown an iota of evidence that you really care for hoi-polloi of India, all you can do is, declaring cunning proposals on the eve of elections.

As familial succession permeates the Indian political life and hypocrisy is at a premium, sycophancy and deviousness a norm among the elite, the things revolve around money, minister and manipulation. It is an age of tall men and short character, steep profits and shallow relationships, world peace and domestic warfare. Never have so many taken so much so blatantly. Everything is being done in the name of “aam admi”. There is a Turkish proverb which says that “when the axe came to the forest, the trees said that the handle is one of us” then, the politician is the handle and the bureaucrat is the blade”.
Social obscenities are masquerading as political leaders. They have sullied reputations and limited appeal. Secularism has got different definition in Indian political circles and it seems imperative that India sends an official request to England, to either change the meaning of ‘Secularism’ according to its convenience or make the word a synonyms of opportunism.

The tenebrous regime of a decade seems in its twilight, and, recent by-elections result heralds its sloppy farewell, in the coming elections, with its highly brilliant and erudite politician’s group, who have incredulously given a lot of things, in the last decade to cherish with, until it does not successfully connive new collaborations, with the ideologically opposite political entities(opportunistic alliances), yet again, to rule the roost of Delhi.
