The Time

It takes time to understand someone. Although the personal traits can only be conditioned; it remains treasured within--in the core, like a vault. Few times people may misconstrue you. Don't worry! the Time will attest time and again of your innate qualities. So, giving time to Time will heal everything; because Time is a great healer. Its the ordeal in between, that haunts and pains.

Road accidents; a dream-liner is crashing everyday in India

This week the ruling party at the center lost one of its promising and popular leader in a road accident in the national capital, and it made headlines: me also lost two of my friends in a similar road accident and it also made headlines. But, the question is--until when we will remain neglecting this mammoth killer road epidemic? and penancing on the loss of our near and dear ones?

Every year estimated 1.4 million road accidents happen in India, out of which only 0.4 million are reported. Nearly 300 people lose their lives daily due to road accidents; in other term it is equivalent to a dream-liner crashing everyday. Further, a minimal percentage of these accidents are investigated scientifically, in the absence of which, the real cause of the accidents are never known. Its time now to give it a serious concern to alleviate this killer threat.

When an accident occurs anywhere, it is the bigger vehicle which is held culprit. This perception must change. Rash driving, bad roads, improper driving training, poor maintenance of the vehicle, driving under the influence of alcohol, are few main causes of the road accidents. And government must choke out a concrete plan to enhance the road safety.

We regret the loss of one, two, or few persons in any communal clashes or due to some other reasons, but, nixing road safety will take more lives in near future can't be abnegated; as we are advancing at a greater pace, for, its the time of expressways nowadays. So, the authorities accountable and responsible for enhancing road safety must be firm to implement the road safety rules--without any leniency. The socio-economic impact of these fatal accidents must be studied throughly to understand its impact. Families are left helpless by the demise of the earning member of the house hold in these accidents. But, ironically, road safety only hogs limelight when we lose any popular leader or personality.

Thankfully, this time there has been a change in the government at the center; and we expect a sterner rule and regulation in place for the safety on roads. Loss of a leader is a catastrophe and of 0.4 million people  is only a statics, can't work for long, and this thinking must change: obviously it is more than that and government should implement the road safety rules effectively to save lives from going into the mouth of this ugly road demon. We, the people, also have some responsibilities; obeying the safety rules and norms, wearing the helmet and using safety belts, not driving rashly, not giving super-bikes to the adolescents and making them aware of the road safety rules, and not driving after consuming alcohol, are few of the steps, we must take, to ensure the safe return of our near and dear ones from the roads. And remember, it is better late than never.

The aftereffects of the wave

Abusing others with ostentatious remarks has gone fishing from the media. The outbound language is tracing the path like a boomerang and unable to hold the Boomerang, or, not knowing how to handle it, is playing havoc, and the reacting leaders are either shown the door, or, are being reined in, or, reprimanded sternly.

Some call it retrospect, some introspection, some review, and yet some reinventing and rejuvenating the party; but, I call it the aftereffects of a severe storm that pervaded India for more than a year. As the new small plants are uprooted in a thunderous hailstorm so have been several parties in the just concluded elections. Some are sulking; some are frowning; some are licking their wounds; some are calling meetings after meetings to give solace to each other; but, everyone of them is dying for an issue which will bring all the decimated and severely wounded parties back to the media glare.

The HRD minister's qualification issue, article 370 and several other issues may be seen as an effort to divert the new government's attention from the core issues India is facing now--by the bruised leaders. After all, such behavior is expected from those who have lost their ground--devoid of their lifesaving bread and butter.

Those whose space in the political arena have been snatched, or those who have been maimed, or those who have been bundled to single digit number of seats in the Lower House in the Parliament should understand it clearly that the new generation is now sizable and are conscious enough to differentiate between the opportunists and the deliverables, and the faster they will mend their ways of a constructive politics, the quicker will their recovery; otherwise they may start counting their days for an unceremonious egress from the Indian politics; or, the only option left to them will be--coalesce--which has already made its presence felt in Bihar: but, until when such blending will sustain is to be seen. The ephemeral 'Third Front' is still fresh in our mind and what happened to it is not a rocket science.

Thankfully, the new PM has been a ground worker, and is well aware of the designs the opportunists and the silver spooned play. So, let's treat the hiccups in opposition camp as mere entertainment material for the news media; and hope that Mr Modi and his team will certainly deliver at a brisk pace, because he knows that the timely delivery on all fronts will not only erase some regional parties from the national scene, but will give his party a decisive edge over others and a possibility of faring well in the states also, which will go to the hustings shortly; and no doubt Uttar Pradesh needs an urgent and decisive attention.

Careful steps are the need of the hour

So, the change has occurred at last in Indian politics; NDA government is back with a bang. The record breaking performance of the BJP in the general election--first time full majority by any non-congress party--was welcomed by much awe from all quarters; and its performance has left it dumbfounded itself.

But, the real test for the new government has started from the day one. Given full mandate by the people,  great expectations now lies on its shoulders. The new government will have to deliver timely on several issues--the issues which has given it such a landslide victory; inflation, graft and apathy--despite a lot of edge giving Bills by the previous government[sic]. The new government will have to deliver on several fronts simultaneously and with a sublime pace.

Prioritising the government's intentions should be taken care of carefully. Those parties which were decimated in the general elections are licking their wounds and are sulking. So, they will be vying for any slackness of the new government very eagerly; for, it will give them new grounds to reinvent themselves. But, cleaning the government of the ills remains the Augean stable for the new government.

The eternal cougher, the arrogant politicians, the feigning secularists, the opportunists and the thugs, all have been maimed this time; and there will be no leg pulling. The triumvirate of the dames have their role cut this time; and only mustering the majority in the Upper House(the Rajya Sabha) in case of policy making remains an Achilles heels for the new government; but, the NDA does have some astute strategists who can and will muster the majority as and when the need demands.

Thankfully, the new premiere has a proven record of delivering in governance; and neglecting the disruptions and brouhaha by the opposition parties--which is none in the parliament this time--the new government should pace its steps on pussyfooting but with a great pace. Then only the motif of change will be meaningfully and effectually materialised. The economy, foreign policy, relations with the neighbours, job creation, and inflation; all have set their hopeful eyes on the new government. Let's hope that everything will have its good times ahead barring the cougher and the blabber.

BSNL-disconnecting India

Do you own a BSNL landline in India ? Then you must have gone through the nasty and irritating  unwanted commercial calls. BSNL; once a leader in telecommunication saw a nosedive slump in its customer base in the first decade of the twenty first century; and after the invasion and penetration of mobile technology it is on a ventilator waiting for its certain death.

Thanks to INTERNET, which gave it a new life; and BSNL again is on a path of recovery. The cheap tariffs and impeccable pace, along with the customer care system is giving this 'Navratna' company a face-lift again.

But, there enters the commercial calls segment. This segment is so frustrating that if you will say no to the caller, or request him not to call you again they will threaten you of dire consequences. The BSNL database system is so easily accessible that they know your address and they threaten with your address and you are left only to fume on the BSNL data theft.

Although the government has enacted few laws to save the BSNL customers from these unwanted calls; but, untill the BSNl will stand to safeguard its database, it is nearly impossible. The BSNL telephone numbers are available at 3000 numbers per hundred rupees. Untill the moles in the BSNL--who indulge in selling the numbers for petty gains--are brought to book, BSNL can't give its customers a safe environment and peace of mind. Let's hope that this blog reaches to the persons in charge of decision making process of BSNL; and they take appropriate steps to lengthen the life, not shorten the death of BSNL landlines in India.

And the tranquility prevails

With the end of the campaigning for the last phase of the on-going election process; the long and tedious electioneering for the sixteenth Lok Sabha come to its fag end. The barbs, the miscues, the jabs, the interpretations and the misinterpretations all took a semicolon in all forms of media. And the  media specially TV seems imbued and exhausted in covering such a huge election process: the full stop being reserved for sixteenth May scenario.

All involved, barring the officials entrusted with carrying the last phase successfully, will be cooling their heels now. The political class will soon see infusion of fresh camaraderie all over India. But, the scene of serenity may take an ugly turn if no one gets a clear majority. And the hue and cry will again resurface with the jibes.

But, for the time being let's celebrate the peaceful and successful completion of the election process, and enjoy the tranquility and peace in and around ourselves. The government making process will begin after sixteenth of May, but the Sensex has announced something favorable by kissing the 23000 mark. Let's hope that the Sensex will quit its serial kisser image and move on to continuously moving path without vacillations; and Indian economy will follow suit.

The corroding pillar

The secret love affair of a senior leader ate up all the time and space in the media last week; the bomb blast in Chennai, Tamilnadu or the pogrom in Kokrajhar, Assam although found a minuscule mention in the fourth page of newspapers; the selfies and the barbs got ample time and space, news like the blast got little or no coverage on news networks; because there were no sponsors for these news, I think. The Center sponsored channels did their ritual routine job, and the devastating incidents came into light as a not-so-important event. Isn't it a live example and testimony to the fact that the fourth pillar of democracy has corroded up to a devastating degree in India? and is in need of a overhaul?

After the TV channels mushroomed in 1990s; it was feared then that in order to survive and do business, few will choose the sensationalizing route, few will squander from their path of proper and authentic information, few will mean only business, and few will commercialize this fourth and important pillar of democracy by degrees; but, few will stick to the basic fabric of news and broadcasting design. Today, this pillar of democracy is in dire situation, needing an essential and life-saving overhaul.

The breaking news scenario, where an incident of a little value is sensationalized like a hot cake; the scandals are given a fair treatment--a TRP raising legerdemain--but, a news of national importance finds no mention. Who is to blame for this paradigm-shift? The policy makers, the regulators, the viewers, or the owners? Isn't it a time to think about their proper regulation? where every channels are compelled to comply with the minimum decorum required to be categorized as a news channels?--failing which, they will be devalued or thrown out of the news broadcasters domain?

Ironically, for most of the players in this field, their prerogative and protocol runs supreme, and making profit is their primary goal. Regulation of these channels was taken few years back by the central agency, but the guild of News and Broadcasting Association is so strong that it thrashes every effort of taming them. Today, they make and destroy a personality, party and even a government instantly by the simple trick of character assassination. After every news, they take a commercial breaks. Who will tell these actors, saviour and guards of democracy that they are corroding at a much greater pace; and its time now to think of their role in society seriously. Then only the necessary protection from corrosion will be taken, and those who have fallen astray will come back to their defined routes. But, for this to happen and materialize a stern policy is the need of the hour and those showing non-adherence to it, face severe penalties. Thank God! there are few players in this field, due to whom this important pillar of democracy survives, and are respite for the viewers.

Love's labour lost

The social media once again spilled the beans; and an audacious declaration by an Indian politician about his liaison--the love affairs are termed so throughout the world--followed. He must be applauded for the declaration.

From the last ten years he was tearing every opponent and obeying the diktat of a women power earnestly. He was dethroned in his state by the same women power; and at the verge of being pushed to the fence in national politics; the women power has came to his rescue again. The new acquired power will be more enjoyable; as, the ex-officio power carries a lot of weight with it, and has a lot of troubles with it also. But, the feel of this new power--the power of being loved in mid-sixties by a women in mid-thirties carries a lot of weight on his personality and masculinity. As his party is en-route to a rout, it is a better option to cherish the moments with his fiancée in seclusion.

He had made furore with his feral remarks in the past; not long ago he had said a youth leader of his party a hundred percent juicy material. The misinterpretation of his remark by the media was alleged then. But, in India it is said that you can not hide your secret love for long; and if you are a public figure, any news of your affair will spread by leaps and bounds. As that statement against a women youth leader stands testified now, so is his characters.

Interestingly, the love affairs are touted as illicit the world over--by the envied people--till are manifested in a marriage. When the marriage of the bachelor vice president of his party should have taken the center-stage, the blabbing genius of his party is hogging the limelight. What an irony! The man tipped to lead his party in the years to come, is devoid of the PM's chair as well as the groom's. And if the leaders like the sexagenarians will keep taking away the brides this way, the bachelor VP is left only to rue of a lost opportunity. For what? is not a rocket science, and off-course is a matter of my next blog; but, for the time being, let's congratulate the romancing couple for a bright future ahead.

P.S.- Cool Honeymoon in the offing!--was the heading of this blog before publishing, then the recent malapropism of this word by a Baba--and his plight thereafter--came to my mind and I thought this one to be more sober. The man mentioned in the post hails from the state of Madhya Pradesh, where Khajuraho is a city famous for the depiction of the art of making love and sex in the monuments, hence the title.

Is it a 'Democracy' or an 'Abusocracy'?

The leaders hurling uncontrolled barbs against each other; the EC's whip loosing its sheen; making mockery of the people in the name of democracy:  where the Indian politics is going right now? The leaders may have ushered India into a better place in the planet to live; but, that expectation is subdued by degrees by their dirty jibes; and the game is becoming dirtier by each passing day.

To be or not to be part of the party whose leaders are showing such an acumen--in abusing their adversaries; is a pertinent question now. Not to mention the small-time leaders, the MIT educated, the Oxford educated, JNU educated and the local university educated; or, the non-educated all are using the same language. Will they make a difference?--undoubtedly it is a doubt.

Everyone is busy baking his bread, according to his taste or his/her families. The nation has taken the backstage. Very few leaders are talking about their vision of taking India to a newer heights, at the moment. And those who are on the verge of a whitewash are a laughing lot themselves. By using abusive languages, their education, values, and every other things are open to all; and standing disrobed of their veils.

The last Moughal kotwaal's (the police chief's) family is using the language, it had never used before. And the prospect of leading India again will be lessened further by degrees, if they remain indulging themselves in playing such jibes.

Ironically, it is India's destiny that even after sixty seven years of Independence, such things are happening at the moment. Is it the twilight of democracy or the dawn of a new era?  The era of leading and teaching the world how to be a role model; it had done long long ago once. To those leaders who are playing boisterously with the Indian tradition; my earnest request is--don't make the largest democracy in the world an 'Abusocracy'. For, then, the whole world will be laughing at you and your nation, which, off course, is happening right now.So, please behave yourself.

Baba's Tounge-aasan

The latest verbal attack on  Mr RaGa by Mr Ramdev Baba--as he was lovingly called when teaching yoga in India and abroad--can not be termed inadvertent. In whatever way; it must be deplored fiercely. He must be aware of the term honeymoon, otherwise he may not have used it. And by seeking a quick apology, he not only has invited ridicule, but, has given ample proof of the the plight of democracy in India also. Which stance is this Mr Ramdev? Are you not indulging yourself in Bhogashan? Helicopters; retinues; lucullan  parties; and every other thing which departs your way of living from that of a saint--a 'Baba'; what you will term all of these?

When you were a yoga teacher, your manners were somewhat respectful; but, after foraying into business, the once a connoisseur of Yoga, is now turning himself to be a curse in politics; but is heading a two thousand Crore conglomerate now: and his manners and behavior has changed abruptly: now he bleeds hypocrisy, and every other adjectives which should be added to adorn a charlatan. He is no more a once highly respected teacher; but, a teacher-turned-politician on a mission to save his business. His every move is not only aimed at rescuing his business from the clutches of ED or IT; but, also to make a sound pitch where his business will flourish unabated and undisturbed.

From ancient times, the term Baba has had acted as an adjective as well as a noun to describe a person who has given up all worldly pleasures to serve the society; or, to promote the righteous thoughts in humans; or, to spend his whole time in the devotion of the Almighty: but, in the modern age, the people like him are misusing it for personal gains. Otherwise, he may have given a lot of schools and hospitals in and around Haridwar, or anywhere else; but, no, the profit and balance sheets of his companies are his sole area of interests.

Unfortunately, people like him will continue exploiting the religion for personal gains; until, the people posing full faith in them come out of the dogma and conviction around the term 'Baba'. He must be taught, how to behave socially, respectably, and accountably. By giving such statements, and caught in a conniving dialogue with a leader in Madhya Pradesh--when microphones recorded and relayed all--unmasked his nefarious designs suitably. His own guru remains untraceable after ten years. Let's hope that he is nabbed and stopped on time from further maligning his religion and his followers.

Wave, Shave, and the Naive

And the outgoing Prime Minister has spoken at last. He says that he can't see any wave. No NaMo effect is anywhere in India. Isn't it like fooling oneself? Sir, you were also unable to see--or detect--the level of corruption in your government; non-deliverance on critical issues, unable to tame the inflation; and unable in everything else--except the Nuke deal, the FDI, and a plethora of freebies for the poor--and , everything else eluded your eyes. And after ten years at the helm, you are still unable to see the wave, it is due to your newly developed shortsightedness; or in an apothegm, the repercussions of getting old.

Never ever in India, such an urge was felt for a change; and in NaMo, Indians have started believing that change is sure to happen this time. And they are supporting his cause willfully and enthisistically. The surge in voting percentage can be seen as a testimony to the existence of this wave.

Every thing will be blown this time; the ineptitude of your government to redress the people's woos is very fresh and so deeply engraved in people's mind that defying the caste and creed, they are welcoming this face of change.

The blabbing of the masquerading crusader, in the name of corruption, will also get a suitable reply this time. Does he see corruption in the name of Modi or BJP only ? And by defeating him, does he thinks that he will uproot this menace for ever? Why he has not fielded a strong candidate against Mrs Sonia Gandhi? He floated his party to decimate Congress, but now he is playing politics with the sentiments of those who supported him in his once seeming noble cause. His designs will be unmasked this time, is for sure. Wearing the Gandhi cap he made fool of the people in Delhi, and this time he is wearing the Muslim's cap to fool them. Leaders like him--with such an indecisiveness and restiveness--should be punished siutably and brought to book for misleading the people on false promises. As he delivered nothing in delhi, he will deliver nothing on national level also.

Interestingly, the third front is conniving to forge a opportunist coalition this time also; and their pussyfooting must be seen as a desperation to grab the power at any cost. They will also be subdued by degrees this time; as the wave has now transformed itself into a tempest; a violent storm of change. And let's hope that India does witnesses this change this time for the sake of its survival in every field.; and the NDA coalition does gets a majority with their current partners only; otherwise, the leg-pullers will be in action once again. So, this election will be remembered for the 'Wave', Congress's close 'Shave'; and the coughing 'Naive'.

Voting over; inflation recover

When my city was to vote, the local consumer price index defied its national trend, and every commodity was at an awesomely low price. Vegetables were low, edible oil, rice, wheat and few other goods were showing--or were being sold at a low price, to woo the voters, I can't say--a downtrend in the prices. The situation really looked rife for a glimpse of good times yet to come: in an absolute synchrony with the ads being shown on TV and other media of an euphoric times ahead.

The voting in my city was reported at sixty five percent--a rise of nearly fifteen percent from the last elections: the rise being claimed to be the initiative of the Steel company, the Government, and several others.

After a week of the elections, the commodities, which were once showing a downtrend, are now pacing ahead of the national index; and thus casting a shadow on the euphoric atmosphere prevailing in India now. Is it an omen or a sign of adversity yet to come?

Thankfully, this time, the man tipped to be the Prime Minister of India, hails from a poor family; and he knows about the woes of the paupers very well. Let's hope that he starts taking the steps right from the word go, to curb all the menaces of the biggest democracy in the world. And he reverses the downtrend in economy; and creates new jobs; and manacles the corrupts; and creates a communal harmonious atmosphere, all at such a pace so as to silence his critics and make this decade really an euphoric and blissful one: the last decade was lost to corruption, which we all are ruing.

Let's hope that his alliance, not his party, gains absolute majority in the lower house; for, in case the latter happens, India may see the real diktat in him; and we may again see the reversal of the old times, when Congress party was in absolute majority, yet it failed to deliver at a pace which was expected of it.

Tuesday 22 April 2014

At least you hold your horses Mr Modi

Using the filthy language or vitiating the atmosphere have become a common trend in India during elections. Several leaders have been whipped by the Election Commission of India(ECI) for breaking the norms, but to no avail. The hate mongers are on their way to leave the atmosphere vicious. For some leaders, using these jives can be understood; it may be their sheer desperation to decipher the Namo wave;  but, for some it may act as a spoilsports. And, if it is coming from a potential source then it does carry weight.

From one week or so, the PM-in-waiting(assuming that he does not meets the patriarch's fate of waiting, and waiting and still waiting) has increased his personal attack on the out going government, manifold. Now in every rally, he is teasing the Congress chairperson along-with his son. Does he thinks that using personal remarks against someone garners votes, and makes the atmosphere euphoric? If he thinks so, he is marring his own persona. Tomorrow, when he becomes Prime Minister, and the neighbours mis-behave, will he taunt them; and will the teasing land India in good weathers? Its time now to think. Does India wants a women-teaser? or a suave man like Mr Nehru or Atalji? I have heard the latter few times and there was no such black comedy in his speeches; yet, he is admired by all for his oratorial excellence.

BJP is on a path of a grand comeback to power at the centre, and no party seems to challenge it. So, its time now, for Mr Modi and his team, to mend their ways, to stop the personal attacks, to rebuild their persona, and to speak out the steps he will take to counter various issues, India is facing now. As the manifestos are out, there is no fear of it being stolen or copied. Go straight Mr Modi ! don't falter and fool Indians, you have a lot of work to do, and at a brisk pace. India has witnessed the fallout of a ' King of Good times' lately, and it does not wish to see another bigmouth to follow the suit.

Interestingly, leaders from every noticeable party has been whipped or tamed by the ECI for breaking the accepted norms and behaviour, and no party can boast of being decent during electioneering. But, concerning the pervading wave, it can be firmly stated that--if an Oxfordian, or a college dropout can use such languages, the tea seller then has every right to use it also--and it is in line of his bragging upbringing.

We have desired for a change, and is bound to happen, sooner than later. But, very few will accept a blabber or teaser to lead a nation--sans decency and decorum. So, hold your horses Mr Modi, you are not going to be a sarpanch, but, Prime-Minister of a nation.

Cyber Safety

Viruses, Spams, petty calls, phishing, vishing, hacking, worm attacks, cyber terrorism, credit card frauds, pornography, Trojan attack, IPR violations, email spoofing, email bombing, email spamming, flooding a computer resource with more request it can handle, forgery and, ultimately a system crash; are few of the threats which come inherently with the Internet connection now.

Internet has spread like wild fire since its invention. It has enhanced the effectiveness of humans and governments. The quickness in transferring data is what has given it such a huge success as a potent medium of communication. The documents and data available on any subject is so huge that it has added to the effectiveness of students, scientists, researchers and surfers dying for information also.

Then, there comes the black side of it. Several names have been cited in the beginning; which are more than enough to give headaches to its users; and its ramifications and repercussions has increased manifold. Suicides, murders, bullying etc.due to cyber crime is on a rise. And so, it is time now to equip yourself and your system to handle these threats properly. Although, there are a plethora of books and documents available on the subject, but, its time now to have a recap on the cyber safety module to tame this deadly monster.

In countries like India, where safety awareness from cyber crimes are very low, the need of a safe surfing practice should be inculcated among Internet users, and they must be kept posted about the various threats, and methods to thwart them. Few of the safety steps to safeguard your selves and your systems are:-

* Install a good anti-virus software(e.g. McAfee, Kaspesky, Quick Heal, Norton etc.) into your system and update it regularly. The freebies available on Internet do not give proper protection from a number of threats.

* Activate the firewall, and if possible activate the windows defender also.

* Do not respond to the spam e-mails. The banks never ask information via email.

* The security setting in the Anti-virus should be at maximum.

* Make friends on the social networking site you are familiar with; and never give your full information on these sites: fake identity can be made in your name and everyone in your friend-list will believe it: bullying and blackmailing will start thereafter.

*Edit and review the security setting in the social networking sites.

* Using virtual key boards in financial transactions on the Internet, minimises the threats of an account hack.

* Change your account password regularly; make passwords which are hard to guess. Using Upper cases lower cases and alpha numeric keys with numbers and special characters is the best option for making your password very strong. e.g. Delhi%123456.

*  Use the parental control in the anti-virus programs to protect your children from pornography, gaming and other such sites.

* Do not click on the links you do not believe.

* Use https:// in place of http and see a green signal on the address bar to ascertain yourself that it is not a fake site. It is secured hyper text terminal protocol.

* Block pop-up windows from your browsers. They may contain codes, which will pave the way for the hackers: they will steal information from your system without your knowledge.

* Use e-mail service of renowned providers, which come equipped with tracking the source or originator--luckily the 'Google' has it.

* In security setting in e-mails, use your mobile number as the password reset request medium. If you have already done it, fine; otherwise, do it immediately.

* Do not click on any suspecting ads, as they will ask you for approval to gain control of your account; and if you grant them the privilege, you are gone.

* If you fall prey to any of the vices of the cyber criminals, please report to police in your town. Every city now has a cyber cell.

* Know the cyber laws prevailing in your country. In India it is IT act 2000, IT amendment act 2008 etc. You can visit yourself and have a deeper insight into it by visiting -- http://deity.gov.in/content/cyber-laws.

These are few of the steps to safeguard yourself, your children and your system from various threats that come with the Internet. So, be alert and surf with caution. Happy surfing!

Does Mr Modi has a Philosopher's stone to quell all the monsters ?

In en-cashing the anti-incumbency votes in their favour, the parties, specially BJP and others are forgetting one thing--that the onus will be on them once they form the government at the center.  In their manifestos they have shown daydreams to the populace, but have hinted very little about the ways and mechanism with which they will rein in the inflation, corruption and joblessness along with defense and economy. Inflation in Gujrat is still as it is in the rest of India.

It is not so that either Mr Modi or anyone else will use the Philosopher stone to relieve the general public from all the hardihood they are facing now; and all their pain will be gone by the blink of an eye.It will take time. And it is time now to think deeply about the plans to check the inflation and corruption than to boast of a grand come back. I saw a tainted leader bragging on the prospect of his party, lately.

The Indian people should believe the fact that Mr Modi or his team does not have a panacea, or elixir with which he will tame the monsters of inflation and corruption. If he will be able to bring down the pervading corruption, or the inflation index by a decimal points, it will not work. What is the difference then? in the current regime and the regime yet to come ? He will have to decimate them all by setting up a proper, indomitable, and unquestionable mechanism. And it is not so that every thing will be priced at a price as it was in the year 2000. If anything like that happens, the economy will collapse, as it will send negative sentiments to the industries. What can he do then?--is a question he and he confidante should answer, not only showing the air castles. The atmosphere is euphoric for a change. But, we should expect a little from the party or alliance coming to power. The Indians are destined to get a little relief in income tax, or petrol prices in the name of democracy and an able administrator. But, these steps will do a little for the poor who do not file income tax returns or own a car or a bike. Who will be the gainer then? Off course the industrialists and the party coming to power.

Ironically, the pain of the last ten year or so has been such that everyone wants a change; and it is sure to happen. But, how much nectar will flow from Delhi, and how much it will reach to those in need, remains to be seen. One thing is certain, India will remain subdued by degrees in every field after sixty and seven years of its independence. The working class has not forgotten the perquisites and service tax yet; and several things like that is bound to happen to tame the rancorous voters. India will test two or three more nuclear weapons to quell all the criticism of non-performance then and every thing will remain shining, as it was in 2004. The world is alive on the hopes and let's hope that Mr Modi's fifty-six inch chest does not contract under the great expectations of the people from him; before the next elections are declared.

World cricket and ICC should be saved from such persons

The honorable Supreme Court once again has rejected the plea of Mr Shrini; and thus has closed the doors for his early return at the helms, before a thorough probe is through. The question automatically arises here as to why he is so keen to return to the state of affairs, despite so much embarrassments to his name and fame? Once a respected chairman of a cement company stands subdued in pride and respect, by degrees. Yet, he wants to hog the limelight once again. Why? Is it fame; or money; or something else?

Despite being held accountable in the burgeoning match-fixing menace by the Mudgal committee report, he is tipped to be the next ICC chairman; and if he is stopped from the looking after the affairs of BCCI, he will face severe criticism from other quarters about his abilities, probity and effectiveness; and will be prevented from becoming the ICC chief. And if he makes it anyhow, will face severe criticism from other members. He has dealt the conflict of interest issue with disdain and has smudged the fixing allegation similarly; and in a haste he contrived and maneuvered the findings of the probe committee--a team headed by his own men--and got his son in law acquitted of all the allegations of spot fixing. This man should be held responsible for not handling the issue properly--i.e. with a proper mechanism at its place--and thus bringing disrepute and ignominy to BCCI in the world cricketing fraternity.

The match fixing behemoth is a demon which is trying to destroy the basic fabric of this sports and its sportsmanship; and keeping such a person at the helm will be detrimental to the game as well as to its lovers. The honorable Supreme court is absolutely right in rejecting his review petition and urging the BCCI to complete the probe at an earliest.

Ironically, the man with a good fortune should have chosen the noble path of giving up worldly pleasures of his involvements in all sports administration activities; and would have concentrated on his core business; but, for God known reasons--or known to himself--what is playing as the driving force for his aspirations of heading the sports body again and again, is hard to assimilate. He was unable to clean the Augean stable at home and will leave the world cricket body in a greater mess--which is in greater emergency under the fixing threats--once given the reins of ICC. The governing body of ICC should ruminate hard and act quickly to respond to this situation, treating it as an emergency to save the game of gentlemen, and should stop such an inapt person from becoming its boss; and earlier it responds to this exigency, the better. Because, it is always better to prepare and prevent than to repair and repent.

But, Varun was forced to take the detour Priyanka

The recent verbal dual between the siblings of the Gandhi family once again has proved the proverb that every thing is possible in Love, War and ... .

Sanjay Gandhi in seventies has virtually besieged every thing in the Indira Congress then, and every road lead to and emanated from his house. He was tipped to be the successor of Late Mrs Indira Gandhi, but the fatal copter crash on 23rd June 1980 ended his life and his illustrious political career. At the age of thirty and three he gave enough hint of an able politician; Maruti Udyog Ltd. and the Emergency are said to be his brainchild.

As the destiny has had it, Indira Gandhi lost her beloved son; and her eagerness to pass on the legacy of Nehru-Gandhi family, hastily initiated apathetic Rajiv Gandhi into politics. After Indira's assassination the whole nation stood besides her bereaved son and the sympathy wave gave Rajiv Gandhi nearly two-third majority in the parliament elections in 1984.

Rajiv Gandhi led India on the 'Right Path' of development in every field. But, apart from giving a plethora of good things, he opened the doors of the Lord Ram birth temple(now proved by ASI) ajar; and thus the Pandora's box was opened--advertently or inadvertently is another matter. But, he may have thought a 'Right Path' of communal harmony, I think. Thus, handing over a contentious issue to the tyro BJP to rise with its exploitation up to the hilt. And BJP flourished miraculously--from two to eighty nine to one hundred and eighty two; and has formed the government thrice at the center--for thirteen days, for thirteen months and a full tenure respectively. BJP is again on a government formation path rising on a much tauted wave--a tempest now.

In the eighties Rajiv's family flourished and his children relished the days. But, Sanjay's family went into oblivion; and there were no takers of his spouse or child's well being. After the assassination of Rajiv Gandhi, her spouse Mrs Sonia Gandhi, after initial flutters and timidness took the control of the Congress party and her children enjoyed the royal treatment from all houses. There was still no takers for Sanjay's family.

Mrs Meneka Gandhi--Sanjay's spouse--took the plunge into the politics and won, miraculously though; and meticulously shaped Varun's career--his only son. After completing his studies, Varun also hugged politics, and has hogged the limelight since his foray into politics. In the meantime, the Gandhi's family remained incommunicado among themselves. Sonia remained the mentor of his son and Meneka her's. There was no communication between the siblings.

Ironically, in the on going elections, when Congress is fighting a loosing battle, the fracas between the siblings has started; one using harsher words and the younger still adhering to the family tradition and love--although paradoxic concerning their fathers. Whose path is right and whose wrong, only time will tell.

Meanwhile the excerpts from the national poet Ramdhari Singh Dinkar's lines from 'Rashmi-rathi' will answer them both and a new insight and solace to the readers:--

The Congress party's saffron love and the marriage

It was Jawahar lal Nehru's wish once to take Atal Bihari Bajpai into the congress, but, Mr Vajpai didn't show any interest in fulfilling his wishes. Mr Nehru then had presaged that Mr Vajpai will lead the country in future, and it did came true on three occasions.

After 53 years of that prediction, the Congress's love for Mr Vajpai continues, and the latter has got mention and space, with his comments and pictures this time on the official website of the fateful party; the reason not withstanding in this discussion.

Some days ago--before Mr Narendra Modi filed his paper from Varanashi--the aforesaid party was ruminating on fielding a heavyweight against him. But, to our dismay, the party fell short of fulfilling that promise as usual, as its think-tank may have taken the U-turn on Mr Modi. Who knows, the grand old party may have been advised by someone that Mr Modi can give them the consecutive third term in the office. And so, the blabbing against him has diminished by degrees. Now his criticism has been limited to his marital status.

Everything is possible in Love, War, and Politics[sic]; if it so, the day when the mobile penetration will be 100% in India and the Internet voting or mobile voting will be enacted, the voting in India will surge to a new high. And that time is not very far.

Marriages are said to be made in Heaven( and unmade on Earth ); if the one declared PM candidate has unmade it on the earth, the other is still waiting for it--to be made. The parents of the unmarried children are said to be anxious about their children being getting married on time. But, when the parents have a humongous load on their shoulders--of the party and the government--little time is left, for thinking the marriages of their children.

Ironically, all these hubbubs and allegations will die out and go into oblivion, once the elections are over; and India will see two grand marriages then: one of the scion's and the other of the divorcée's. For the time being, let's watch the grand drama of the world's largest democracy.

Wave or no wave; change is in the air

Yes, in Bihar and UP, it is a common practice during marriages, to hurl and abuse the grooms family badly; but, the groom's family takes pride in it and they enjoy the ceremony. As per the tradition, these songs thwart any evil thing from happening, and everything goes smoothly. Now a days, this tradition is being subdued and discouraged by the literate families, but it is still there.

From the same line of thinking, the abuses and blabs--mostly inciting, and being practiced in these two states only--may be treated as an omen: a better time for India in the offing. And the Election Commission of India does not have to use its whip on the erring politicians. Let them abuse each other, most probably, they are going to be abused badly--once the results are out--for, this time the voters are more alert than ever. And these barbs may be a result of their defeat being sniffed by them in advance.

Wave or no wave, more and more voter turnout will deliver deadly blows on the evildoers of the democracy, and will usher India into a new era of economic development, communal harmony and stability. So, please come out, cast your vote and decimate the divisive forces that are a curse on this great nation.

MH370 mystery; is the Big Brother still watching?

After more than a month, missing MH370 is yet to be traced. Few developed[sic] nations are on a hunt for any clue about the dream-liner, but, it is still traceless.

Whether it has gone into the Heaven, or to the lower world, still remains mystery, and the world powers boast of their advancement in every field. Big Brother is watching and snooping everyone. Where is the MH370 then?

No doubt, Malaysia is an undeveloped country, and is a victim of internal strifes, but, this does not exonerates the world powers, who keep their presence felt anywhere in case of any unrest.

Now, the apathy of the  G7 is evident from the fact that they have nothing to gain from the MH370 expedition, and hence, they have kept themselves aloof from it. But, they are yet to believe that this can happen to any nation. And the terrorism is spreading its wings at a very brisk pace everywhere. Post 9/11, incidents of terrorism are on a rise, and the incidents in Russia, China, England, America, India, Pakistan, and in the gulf countries bear testimony to the fact that now it has engulfed the whole Planet, more or less, under its cover.

All planets ventured, hydron collider experiment done, advancement in science, medical science, agriculture, defense system, and air attack system par excellence; in brief, in every field we have achieved tremendous advancements.

At a time when the world powers boasts of decimating even an eagle in its territory. How then the ill-fated airliner ditched every system?

Ironically, the mystery around MH370 still prevails; and there is a very little possibility that it will be solved in near future. But, it does points a finger on the abilities and advancements of the mankind or its race. Its time now, for the world powers, to come forward and unveil the mystery around MH370, and prove that they really are the guardians of the human race, not only the mean business oriented nations.

Tame this hydra-headed monster

Patience is what today's youth lacks the most. They are not to blame for this impatience, for, this time of ours, the pace of advancement, the instancy, the immediacy in every field has had given them everything at such a pace as to leave them restless by only a single failure in a game of utmost uncertainty. Our's is a time of instant success, instant coffee, instant fame and instant downfall; to cut a long story short, every thing is instant.

The six sixes in an over, two winning world cup final blitzkriegs--like a blizzard on the opponents--and a lot of innings has not faded from our memory yet, and his innings have given the cricket fans many happy moments, and cheers. But, this time he failed to deliver, and pelting on his house was what he got in reward; not to mention the imprecations on him in the social media. It is simply a character assassination. And it must be condemned to the hilt. It is a torture, no sportsman anywhere on this planet calls for.

The day the latest fixing scandal, in IPL has broken out, Indian cricket is in a fall. The system in BCCI and ICC are to be blamed for. When the first fixing was unearthed , way back in 2000, it was not solved amicably then, and not equipped with proper mechanism for nixing the fixing in cricket. No mechanism was devised to battle and belittle this evil, and the evil has transformed into a hydra headed monster. There is still time for doing this, and ICC has every resources necessary to tame this evil suitably. But, what it lacks is the will. And until that will will emerge, the cricketing fraternity is very little to gain, and this ruthless juggernaut of the devil will continue ad-infinitum. And the fixing syndicate seems to have fixed the anti fixing bodies itself, and is giving it a very tough time indeed.

Indian Supreme Court has initiated the process of cleaning the Indian cricket by showing the door to the inapt administrator, whose collusion with the fixers is now well known, and whose intentions were even more hazy in solving the fixing menace. Let's hope that this time the honorable court does deliver some nasty fatal blow to this fixing imperium, and the Indian cricket will be free from its nefarious designs.

Unfortunately, the Yuvi fans were also not made in a day, rather they were made by his consistency, his elegance, his class and his attacking style; and, the anger and gloom of not winning the world cup translated into such a huge raze and blabbing against him. But, amid all this furore, Yuvi will remain a fantastic batsmen of his era, and his days are not numbered yet. But yes, for few, the bell has started tolling, and their name will be revealed very soon. And the hydra headed monster must be nabbed and tamed before it makes it self ubiquitous.

Leaders are more confused than the voters now

By each passing day, when I'm meeting people in a voter awakening program, the voters seem more determined and clear now, to see Mr Modi at the helm. Thus, corroborating the findings and declarations of several survey houses.

All parties saunter in the elections without a clear leader for the PM's post, except BJP. And as the situations are taking abrupt turns, with more and more leaders hurling the abusive languages to score a point or two, it seems that leaders are confused by degrees more than the voters.

The general election is a national concern, and post 1989 the local satraps have played a crucial role in government formation at the center. But interestingly, the local satraps are also withering this time, and are loosing grounds to the once tauted, now realistic wave.

All organisations are pervaded with bickering and differences, more or less, but they remain there, under cover. And if no heed is paid for their redressal on time, they come out with more vengeance, and turn out to be detrimental sometimes.

BJP has mended few of its lapses quickly and as the picture is getting clearer, the national ambiance seems euphoric for Mr Modi and his team now. As the party has come out of the mishmash within, to accommodate the young leaders quicker than expected, and are handing the batons smoothly now--as was seen, when Mr Modi accompanied Mr Advani in Ahmedabad to file the later's nominations; the atmosphere seems more dulcet now.

Interestingly, Mr Modi will have a lot on his shoulders, once his alliance gets near the magic figure to form a government. And if it falls short of it, his acumen will be on the show: how he attracts new parties under his alliance canopy to give India a new trajectory of economic growth, renewed communal harmony and happy atmosphere all around; along with scoring few diplomatic points on the provoking neighbours as well. Let's hope that whatever happens, will be in India's interest.

And the leaders of the smaller parties are more in a dilemma than voters--which way to go after the elections, if situation demands as such. For, the voter's share in government formation will cease the moment they will cast their votes; but, the leader's will start thereafter.

Redefining Secularism and Communalism

BJP leaders taking the blessings of the priests, makes its adversaries, and media  frenzy, but Congress or other parties wooing the clerics of minority communities and inducing them to issue fatwas, or directives, to vote for their candidates and parties, is ethical, serene and secular. What a contrast, in defining the demarcation line between communalism and secularism.

Why it is so that the djinn, or  the ghost of secularism hogs the limelight during each and every elections in India? Let's explore them.

The Congress Party, being the sole carrier of Indian spirit during the freedom struggle(for, there wasn't any other notable party during the freedom movement), gave in to the demand of Jinnah, to bifurcate the nation on communal lines: And the remaining Muslims have been forced to stick with the grand old party of India from the first elections, held in 1952 in India--ostentatiously from the fear psychosis, and the partition penance.

What it has done for the betterment and upliftment of the minorities, is not a hidden fact. It should have done more for thier cause. In the elections that followed after the first, the main minority community of India has been used as a mere vote banks. Muslims know it, but, they have a little option to go to. But, their strategic voting en masse, to any particular party or candidate, has remained a deciding factor in the elections and hence they are wooed badly, each time the elections are around. They go into a slumber thereafter. Who is to blame for then, the parties wooing them, or the clerics being wooed? In my view they both are the culprits of throwing India into a menace and chaos in which it is now.

Other minorities in India, has little or no effect, whatsoever, on the election platform, and hence are given less importance, during or after the hustings.

Mired in corruption, ineptitude and in-activeness, the current government has a noble way of taking an honorable exit route. But, it will not. For, the power not only corrupts, but it also makes its worshipers, shameless and restive.

It is time now, to get India freed from the jaws of such mean forces of secularism, and hence vote for a change, it badly needs, to come back to the track of inclusive growth, communal harmony, and mutual faith on each other. And, for the time being, there does not seems a better option than BJP and its allies.

Satirically, the English language experts--particularly in India--are ruminating hard, and are at the verge of mustering a consensus of giving the words Communalism and Secularism the authorised synonym status for Hindu and Muslims respectively--sternly in Indian context only. And both the aforesaid words are eying to bask in the glory after this new tag, shortly.

Shakespeare's oxymoron

Combining two usually contradictory terms in a compressed paradox is termed as oxymoron. e.g. bittersweet, living death. The Milton's 'darkness visible is a classical example. But, Shakespeare's Romeo utters several in a single speech:-

Why then, O brawling love, O loving hate,
O anything of nothing first create;
O heavy lightness, serious vanity,
Misshapen chaos of well-seeming forms,
Feather of lead, bright smoke, cold fire, sick health,
Still-waking sleep, that is not what it is!

Are you still doubting, why his trance on the English readers still goes unabated, and his writings is termed timeless?

BJP's manifesto menace

The BJP's manifesto, mired in internal conflicts, will be delayed further by three days. First phase of elections are going to be commenced soon: And the BJP is undecided yet, on what to commit and what to omit on its intentions and promises. Come on shrewd leaders!, the voters don't expect it to be delivered to them on the polling booths, and at the time of voting.

Shhhh... a prominent leader has gone miles in flattery lately, and says that whatever Mr Modi utters, is manifesto itself. Got the message folks? Every thing will be volatile. Nothing permanent.

Starting the election campaign, after being elected the campaign committee chief, at the fake backdrop of Red Fort, raising the local issues at the rallies are all the part and parcel of the manifesto[sic]? Suppose it happens anyway, the BJP's voluminous manifesto will belittle the epic Mahabharata; and very few will have the courage to read it from A to Z. And by the time the perusal of the manifesto will be finished, the elections will be over. And finished will be all the chimeras, the wave, and the expectations, pervading the Indian political environment right now.

Come on modernist think-tanks of BJP!, don't play politics anymore on the common man; and come up with the manifesto ASAP. We want to see your courage, change in thinking and the core philosophy of development, and your plan to usher India into a hyperbolic path of prosperity.

Ironically, as a leopard can't change its spots, BJP its jingoistic, saffron hue and  approach either. And the delay in its manifesto is the result of the huff, the tug of war, between the old and the new pack of leaders. Not a good going Mr Modi and Mr Singh, nor a nice party management; shun the once bitten, twice shy approach; for, earliest the manifesto is delivered, the better.

Where is the manifesto Mr Modi?

Nearly every party,  in their run for the general election 2014, have come up with their manifestos sans BJP's. It is sending an erroneous signal to the populace.

That Dr. Murli Manohar Joshi is in charge of the manifesto committee, is known to most of us, but, as he has recently been relegated to accommodate the PM-in-waiting from Varanashi, is learnt to have been fuming over the issue; and so the manifesto is being delayed--it seems.

Mrs Shushma Swaraj, Dr. Joshi, Mr Advani and every other stalwarts of the party are being given lass ear to their wishes or advises, as is conspicuous from various reports. Where the BJP is heading and venturing, amid such a golden opportunity of dethroning the apathetic regime of a decade, is the question, boggling most of the staunch supporters of BJP at the moment. The captain less opponent is buzzing around in one of the ads of BJP now a days, but have they thought, what repercussions it would have had on the voters of supporting a party without a manifesto? It is doing no good for the saffron brigade.

Ironically, the mask, and the face of the party are busy campaigning to garner the maximum votes in the general elections. And it is more unfortunate that the bickering within the party is coming out at a time when every move counts. Where is the manifesto then?

Let's hope that these words make it to the ears and conscience of Mr Narendra Modi and Mr Rajnath Singh on time, before it is too late.

Saluting the future PM in advance

Mr Modi was here yesterday and he will be there tomorrow: Mr Rajnath has the following schedule etc. will only be heard and read in the media now-a-days. Does BJP has these two only ?

No doubt,  BJP has a plethora of wonderful speakers; and the duo named above are above par, but, the question is:- What happened to other good orators the party has, or had. Have the good speech-makers gone fishing ?, or were relegated, or it is the culmination of usurping BJP in all its sheen and shine?

What is there in the design of the duo? Will they let others to rent their voices--within or outside the party? The same thing has happened to the congress, where everyone was instructed to keep mum despite finding the wrongdoing of their ministers. And even after so many bills, they have their going, very tough--forget about the game changer. Is BJP on the same path of anarchism ?

Although, these questions are enough to put a question mark over the overt and covert design of the duo; India is destined to witness the return of the Tuglaq era once more; if the things will happen as predicted by various surveys--leave the sample size, or the nature of the sample or the ways of collecting them.

Fortunately, Indian stock market has showed signs of revival; so has the Rupee against Dollar, and the projection of economic growth . The market has started saluting the future PM in advance--an omen of good times ahead; and we should also not be far behind in bolstering that possibility coming true, because, the goodness allover will  throw a blissful time in every field.  And a compromised PM will throw India in utter chaos, which very few of us will accept.

Yes, it needs courage Mr Kejriwal

Not long ago, media was agog with encomiums of the crusader and his team. Now it seems a laughing lot. No sooner the technocrat-cum-crusader-cum-politician started to fire his imprecations against the media houses, than his fall started.

In my previous blogs, I've presaged the trampling of a potential politician into oblivion, and my words are nearing come true. The hap-hazard political steps, mud slinging on the opponents and not sparing anyone sans his own team has left them tottering where they began from, i.e. they are back to square one. And the Indian populace, barring his own party members, are giggling at their ventures, and bran-new master-strokes  for grabbing the prime spots in Indian politics, each passing day.

Without proper homework, without proper party build-up, without proper planning and without everything else, they have taken a big plunge into the fray, and are destined to be relegated to an inferior position in Indian political system, until they will ruminate deeply in building their cadre and the party as a whole. The success in Delhi was made ephemeral, and in spite of building it as a base for future endeavours for capturing new grounds, they betrayed everyone--rather stunned and ditched all and sundry. And they stand from where they have began. The poor far-sightedness, and planning, and party principles are to be blamed for.

Ironically, the crusader and his team continues his tirade against those who were cause of his rise--the media. And until he makes room for a little manoeuvre and leniency for media, he is bound to extract a very little gain from this election. And penance of missing a golden opportunity after the elections will only be left for them. And Indians are notorious for their sentimental and strategic voting. Let's hope that the crusader and his team will get ample time after the elections to reinvigorate their cause and reinvent themselves with every thing proper in its place in their definition and understanding of Indian politics.

The gone neckerchief--the patented bonnet--the muffler, is what he is missing from his costume to attract and convince the common man to vote for him; and so is his eternal cough. But, it needs more courage to don the muffler in the scorching sun than leaving the posts he has held previously; and his party will suffer from the loss of suffrages of common men and the elites.Mr Arvind please remodel yourself as a common man once more, and trance the voters to dance to your tunes.

Anarchic BJP

Call it sheer desperation or something else, in order to grab the power at the center, BJP is doing things, which is taking it nowhere. Once a party with a difference is looking like a party with differences.

Riding comfortably on the Modification wave, the party's top honcho has started castle-building to early, and taking steps which not only is denting its image, but, is decimating the morale of its grass-root level workers also.

Sidelining and demoralising the veterans; giving red carpet welcome to the refugees of other parties; garlanding the corrupts; cordially hugging the mafiosi; and arrogance, are few points, which are exacerbating  the prospects of the party: and the triumvirate is to be blamed for. The party was not moulded in a day; it is not the patrimony of  the few avaricious people, should be clear to the triad--now becoming notorious in decision making.

The trinity of leaders should be reminded that they are very learned, suave, and masterpieces in their fields; but, please store your master-strokes for coagulating post-poll alliances. Otherwise, the populace is intently watching your every move, and days to come can easily be presaged.

Ironically, few steps--decisions rather--taken by the triad of BJP leaders has slackened party's advantage over its adversaries, when discipline and principles are taken into account. For the time being, it has no principle, no discipline, and no foresightedness, it seems. Quick recap on the basic principles of BJP is what it requires most. And earlier it makes amends in its ways of functioning, the better. Otherwise, anarchic label is ready to be conferred to it, sooner than later--and unceremoniously.

Helplessness of the octogenarian couple

As the atmosphere in India at present is of electioneering, I nodded to be part of a team to awaken and entreat the voters to come out and vote. We were requesting all we met, to use their conscience and vote. In the process I chanced to meet an octogenarian couple, who were eager to vote, but were worried about not being included in the voter list after retiring from a leading vehicle manufacturer company of the world.

Seeing the couple's eagerness in talking to us, we gave an earnest listening to their woes. Here is the gist of the talk between us.

She has two offspring; the daughter an executive in Delhi and the son also an executive in Banglore. They own a car but can't drive. They also owned a scooter, but, can't drive it too. Their offspring send money erratically, and a visit too rare. The old-man was happy to talk to us, and promised us that they will go out to vote, if they can. For, as per them verbatim-'we are pulling somehow; had opted for domestic help with a handsome pay several times, but were robbed every time; and so they now have opted for food from outside.'

We moved onto other doors in our pursuit of covering maximum people. But, the words of the old-age couple still lingers in my mind. Will we meet the same fate, once we are old ? Where are the Indian tradition, we boast of? In the quest for excellence in our chosen fields, we have forgot to look after our parents, and have opted for the western traditions instead. But, there are people who look after their parents very well and are the real winners in this mortal world.

My salute to those who look after their parents and keep them happy, not to those meek; and weak; and coward  people who leave their parents to die their natural death in isolation.

Ironically, as the senior citizens are a dying factor, they are bound to get no mention, in the manifesto of any political party--big or small--in 2014 general elections, for, no one pays much attention to the setting Sun.

Khushwant's malice leaves the angels defenceless

The man with a razor-sharp wit left for the heavenly abode a few days ago. And it is learnt that the angels there are feeling the heat--the ogling of a reticent sardar--ever since the old man of Indian Journalism, held in highest esteem in India, has whined in in the God's territory--the Heaven--sulking, for not making it to the celebrated list of centurions and missing by a whisker, for he died aged ninety-nine.And the angels are sulking in return, for Heaven not having any harassment at workplace bill. Unable to complain against the nonagenarian(on the Earth) and the new entrant (in Paradise), the angels have resorted to the Indian way, and thus they have conveyed the intelligence regarding his foibles to Kawal Malik; who is laughing boisterously on the intelligence and then retorted the angels that such hearsay have hastened her departure from earth twelve years before and now she really wants to rest in peace; let him fulfill his wishes. And mind all of you that goggles are not allowed in the heaven, and he can't see properly without them, but beware ! he has a myopic view; so keep at a safe distance.

N.B.-Khuswant Singh was seen loitering near an angels sorority and even after severe reprimanding by the Heaven guards he held, and held, and still holding his ground there--the way he had had held the ground in India and had even threatened to saunter into the Hell--where there is no hope, and every thing there remains in an utter chaos. But, the grand old man of Indian journalism fears the inferno, and so, has rescinded his plan of playing the peeping Tom in the bash of the nudist Hell.

Waverings of the Namo wave

The way the veterans--including the patriarchs--are being treated in BJP, is very saddening. Many such instances have been reported recently. Doesn't it seem preposterous in the name of party management?

All the old and tested horses of the Indian politics are regaled and insulted daily: be it Mr Lalji Tondon or Dr Murli Manihar Joshi or Mr Jaswant Singh or Mr L.K.Advani; all are mistreated with the same fervor and disrespect.

The new poll management team headed by the party's last CM in UP is upbeat from its expectations of the anti incumbency to such an extent that now the once acclaimed party of discipline and culture looks similar--sometimes worse also--to other parties in the rat race. Where is the guiding principles, the respect for Indian tradition, the culture?

No doubt, BJP is a different party now--certainly not a party with a difference. But, will these GenX leaders will doubt that those leaders have worked very hard to bring BJP to the place where it is. And hardly the forefathers of BJP would have envisaged such a scenario when they will be insulted so often.

If the new leaders think that they are going to make it alone, with a red carpet welcome to the refugees, but insulting the elders; let me reiterate that they will meet the same fate once they are old; for, one gets what one gives. And these precedents does not augur well for BJP.

Ironically, the BJP Prime Ministerial candidate is loosing his sheen on theses matters and all the happenings point to the fact that this new vote waiver will waver the expectations out of the expecting people of India very soon. Mr Modi and Mr Singh earlier you mend your ways, the better; for Genx leaders are ready to take over the mettle--the baton--with elan--sans your haughtiness and disrespect for elders-- for the next 2019 elections.

The end justifies the means will come into the picture only when you will inch closer towards the magic figure--by hook or by crook(the Machiavellian principle) or coalescing new tie-ups, before or after the polls. But, shenanigans like these--the insults--will not only dent your image of an iron man; but you will lose some valuable votes of those voters who still value the Indian system also.

A stitch on time...

If there is really a wave, why then these astute leaders are opting for a safe seats. Why don't they believe in the waves they have created? Everyone is begging for a comfort zone, barring few courageous[ sic] leaders who are on a roll. But, who'll tell them that rolling ball gathers no moss. And if he is told so, he won't be as red as beetroot, for, he has exchanged all the goodness for naught.

The nine days wonder has withered; no sooner he got the red carpet in Delhi than he opted out. His itchy foot is to be blamed for his iridescent behaviour or conduct. He has conditioned himself to be charlatan all the time. And conditioning moulds a man the pundits say. No road-map, no homework before taking the plunge, no spadework, no line-up to don the gloves of governance, still his wishes to metamorphose India--doesn't it seems chimerical?

The scion has now taken the backstage, and now again he is seen rolling his sleeves up. It seems that he will take time to take the center-stage. His body language confirms that he has accepted the defeat before the real battle.

Politics has remained an enigma in India and will remain so ad-infinitum, for , it involves people who are a puzzle in themselves. Those who see their future secured, remain stuck with their party; those who don't, switch sides at the blink of the eye. Is this politics? or a Pole-tricks?

The party, tipped to take over the reins is either busy hobnobbing or giving shelter and importance to the refugees. Will these activities not subterfuge the main aim of this highly ethical party? May the Almighty give them wits to act judiciously, for, a stitch on time...  .

But we are unhappy

From the time our journey on this planet began there was happiness all around. When we were born, there was happiness in our family; when we started toddling, there was applaud from everyone; when we progressed from nursery to higher classes, there was happiness as well as encouragement. When we traversed to higher classes with flying colours, there was happiness and expectations all around. Then our hard work was paid and we got a job: some after rigorous training; some after passing out from a technical college. There was happiness all around. Our journey continued, and was accentuated with happy moments: it was marriage, the honeymoon, getting kids, or a promotion, or a new car or gadget; our life was full of felicity to the brim. Then we aged; got experience;  made the acquaintance with the vicissitudes of lives; and our happiness metamorphosed into resentment. Our lives started stagnating and we were devoid of the happiness. A flashing point occurred when our own child started performing well and even got to premiere institutions. Now, we get happiness in quantized form, but, we don’t let our faces to emit happiness. Rather, we try to be sad in our appearance—for reasons, God only knows and permeate sadness all-around. Why?

To this point, we already have travelled a lot far in our lives; already have achieved certain things, and are on the verge of possessing other—only to leave our friends, family members, subordinates or colleagues to envy from our achievements, excellence, possessions or ascent in our lives. Everything is there sans happiness. Why? The answer lies with you. The aspirations, inspiration and perspiration have taken a backstage. Let them take the center-stage—the guiding principle—now, and for ever, and happiness will be back with a bang again. Let the things happen, which is beyond our control, but happiness must remain and inspire our lives. And our wandering will transform into jogging, jogging into ambling, ambling into trembling, trembling into trotting and trotting into gallop. Whether we inspire the generation next or not, we can propagate happiness: in our homes, or at our works, or in our society. And don’t bother about the mark we will leave, bother about happiness, right attitude and the friendship or kinship we develop around ourselves. The departure from this planet, although will be painful to some, but, when people will think about you, they will boast about the happiness we have permeated in and around ourselves. So, be happy and perform well in every facet of our lives--is the catch line.
